Asus is the first manufacturer to partner AMD to officially submit a card like this: template talks EAH3850X2/HTDI/1G of, with two RV670 GPUs operating in parallel through CrossfireX technology. The card, like the solutions ATI Radeon HD 3870 X2 appeared up to now on the market, requires only the presence of a PCI Express 16x slot on the motherboard and does not require a chipset compatible with CrossfireX technology to work properly.

The technical specifications of Asus provide details of the two GPU clocks of 668 MHz, with 1GB of memory GDDR3 with clock frequency of 829 MHz (1,658 MHz effective). The video memory is divided into two blocks of 512 Mbytes for each GPU.
The technical specifications of the ATI Radeon HD 3870 X2 provide both GPU clocks of 825 MHz with GDDR3 memory increased to 900 MHz clock (1,800 MHz effective). Among ATI Radeon HD 3850 X2 and ATI Radeon HD 3870 X2 will then video memory bandwidth not especially different, while the processing power of stream processors will be higher in the second because of clock rate higher. The number of stream processors is always equal to 320 per GPU mounted on these cards.
